About

Claire McMenaman is a young self taught artist from New London, New Hampshire specializing in the medium of oil paint. Drawing inspiration from everyday things, she focuses primarily on form, light, and space to exaggerate the subject’s presence in the world. Claire is inspired by classic artists such as Edward Hopper, as well as contemporary artists Ines Longevial and Jūliette Fogrâ. She is ultimately tied to the theme of realism, expressed through studies of landscape, inanimate objects, and the human face. Her works grow larger with experience, and we expect to see these themes further explored in the years to come.
